Your browser choices
The publication’s own code keeps things simple: no analytics cookies, advertising identifiers or stored contact drafts.
What cookies and similar storage do
Cookies are small values a website can ask your browser to retain and send with later requests. Local storage and session storage are separate browser mechanisms that scripts can use to retain information. Their purpose matters: a technical preference and an advertising identifier are not the same activity.
What this publication’s code uses
The supplied pages and script do not set cookies or write to local storage or session storage. They do not include analytics, advertising pixels, embedded videos, external fonts or social tracking widgets. The mobile menu and scroll reveals use temporary page state rather than persistent identifiers.
| Feature | Purpose | Persistence |
|---|---|---|
| Page memory | Open menu, reveal state and message preview | Current page session; not written to website storage |
| Clipboard, on request | Copy your prepared message | Managed by your device and clipboard settings |
| Text-file download, on request | Save a prepared message to your device | Remains until you or your device remove it |
| Normal browser cache | Reuse delivered pages and assets | Controlled by browser and server cache settings |
Hosting or security infrastructure may operate separately from the page code. If you see an unexpected stored value, you can inspect it in your browser’s site-data controls and ask us about it. This page does not authorise optional tracking, and optional tracking should not be introduced without appropriate information and any required consent.
Your contact draft
The message tool constructs a preview locally. It does not send or save your entries on this website. Browser autofill, form restoration, clipboard history and device backups are controlled by your browser or operating system. On a shared device, consider clearing copied text and deleting downloaded files after use.
Managing browser data
Use your browser’s privacy or site-settings menu to view and clear cookies, site storage and cached files. You can block cookies or disable JavaScript. Reading the articles does not require JavaScript, although the mobile dropdown enhancement, scroll effects and drafting tool will not operate in the same way without it.
Clearing browser data does not delete a text file you downloaded or an email you sent separately. Manage those through your device’s file controls and email service.
External source links
We link to research and institutional sources rather than embedding their services. Visiting an external link brings you under that website’s own cookies and privacy arrangements. Review its notices and controls where appropriate.
